The Wisconsin Regional Orthoimagery Consortium is a grassroots multi-participant program for acquiring updated digital orthoimagery and elevation data across the state on regular intervals. Currently the consortium is building towards the next major update cycle in 2020. This update will focus on partnership efforts that are underway with local, state, and federal agencies, tribes, and utilities. We will review county participation status, discuss trends in orthoimagery pixel resolution, and go over derivative datasets that can be extracted from new aerial imagery. Lastly we will cover the importance of standardized orthoimagery accuracy specifications for regional and statewide datasets.
